Asparagus squarrosus is a species of flowering plant in the Asparagaceae family. The species is endemic to Cape Verde. IThe species was named by Johann Anton Schmidt in 1853.

In Portuguese as other asparaguses, its local name is espargo or aspargo. The plant are used as a traditional medicine.

Distribution and ecology

Sarcostemma daltonii are founded in nearly all of the Cape Verdean islands except for Brava.
