Asif Rice Group is a Pakistani company headquartered in Karachi and involved in rice farming, milling, processing and exporting.

Launched as a private company in 1962 by Shah Muhammad Sheikh with the initial idea of rice trading and milling, its operations were handed to Mumtaz Ali Sheikh in 1982, under whom it became a family business.

It has retail partners in the Middle Eastern, African and European markets, and has made several acquisitions in the branded and private label sectors.

History

The first Husking unit “Shah Muhammad Rice Mill”” was installed in Shahdadkot, Sindh in 1962 in the name of Shah Muhammad by Mr. Mumtaz Ali Shaikh, father of Asif Ali Shaikh. Shah Muhammad, the father of Mumtaz Ali Shaikh.

shahdadkot is the second largest paddy producer of Basmati& non Basmati in Pakistan. The idea to install a husking Unit miles away from the city is to reach the Rice fields, provide guidelines to the farmers & buy the hand harvested & threshed paddy.
