In 2010, Arnim Whistler was one of the owners of Chicago Red Stars competing in Women's Professional Soccer league. In 2011, Arnim Whisler became the single owner of Chicago Red Stars. Under Whisler's ownershp the Red Stars left the Women's Professional Soccer league due to difficuties in satisfying the league's financial requirements, and joined the Women’s Premier Soccer League. In 2012 the club played in Women's Premier Soccer League Elite, and in 2013 joined the National Women's Soccer League as a founding member.
