Arne Dørumsgaard (7 December 1921 – 13 March 2006) was a Norwegian composer, poet, translator and music collector. He was born in Fredrikstad. He composed melodies to more than 100 songs. His translations of Ancient Oriental poetry into Norwegian language was published in 25 volumes between 1951 and 1985. His collection of sound recordings was among the world's largest private such collections. Received by Mme. Kirsten Flagstad, he wrote several compositions for her. He was awarded the Bastian Prize in 1979, and was appointed honorary doctor of literature in Taipei in 1982. He was decorated Knight, First Class of the Order of St. Olav in 1994. He died in Marzio, Italy in 2006.
