Armenia Sports Union Stadium (Armenian: Հայաստան Մարզական Միության մարզադաշտ), formerly known as Spartak Stadium (Armenian: Սպարտակ Մարզադաշտ), is a multi-use stadium in Yerevan, Armenia, located in the Kentron District of the city.

History

Armenia Sports Stadium was opened in 1935 as Spartak Stadium, within the frames of the Spartak Sports Union of the Armenian SSR. It is the oldest football stadium in Yerevan and the 2nd oldest in Armenia after the Gyumri City Stadium. With a single stand located at the eastern side of the pitch, the stadium can serve around 1,700 spectators.

During the 1930s, the stadium was used by the football team of the newly-founded "Spartak Football Club", which later became known as Ararat Yerevan.

During the Soviet years, the complex was supervised by the Yerevan Committee of Physical Culture. However, after the independence of Armenia, the stadium was privatized in 1999 and became owned by the "Armenia" Sports Union NGO.
