Arab Muslims

Arab Muslims are adherents of Islam who identify linguistically, culturally, and genealogically as Arabs. Arab Muslims greatly outnumber other ethnic groups in the Middle East.

Muslims who are not Arabs are called mawali (Arabic: موالي‎‎) by Arab Muslims. Historian Hugh Seton-Watson has argued that solidarity has historically been stronger between Arab Muslims than between all Muslims because many believe that only Arab Muslims are true Muslims.
