The Aquaculture Stewardship Council (ASC) is an independent non-profit organisation which sets a standard for sustainable aquaculture. It is comparable to the Marine Stewardship Council promoting and certifying sustainable fishing.
The Aquaculture Stewardship Council was founded in 2010 by the World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF) and the Dutch Sustainable Trade Initiative (IDH).
