Haithem Albadran (born July 1, 1969), better known as Antonio Albadran, is an Iraqi American actor. His most notable credit is his role as Prince Tariq in the 2005 film Dreamer: Inspired by a True Story.

Early life

Badrani was born in Basra to Iraqi parents. He started college in Iraq in late 1988, where he had lived through the Iran-Iraq war and the U.S. invasion of Iraq, as well as being subjected to political abuse from the Saddam Hussein regime as he was jailed for his political differences with the Baath party ideology during his college years. Later, Albadran was freed by the Baath party resistance and gained political asylum in the United States as a refugee on March 28, 1991. Following this he was sent to a Saudi Arabian refugee camp in the desert under US care for four years, then he later immigrated to the US on August 18, 1994. He was a resident in San Diego until July 10, 1998 and then moved to Nashville, Tennessee.

He became a U.S. citizen on March 24, 2005.
