Johnson was named by the American Bar Association as one of the Techiest Lawyers in America, featured on the cover story of the ABA Journal (April 2012).

Solo Practice and Small Firm Growth

Johnson's background in engineering and finance did not deter him from entering directly into the practice of law after he graduated from law school. Immediately upon becoming a member of the Arkansas Bar Association, Johnson launched his first law firm as a solo practitioner.

After a few months as a solo practitioner, Johnson joined Butler, Horn, Nye & Johnson, PLLC, a multi-state law firm based out of Benton and Little Rock, Arkansas. In the ABA Journal's 2012 Publication, Johnson's partner described Johnson as being:

pivotal in transitioning the firm to the cloud, including a completely cloud-based client management system, cloud file servers, cloud back ups, and a cloud-hosted VOIP telephone system that works seamlessly across multiple offices and at home.

Johnson Vines Attorneys

In December 2012, a few months after leaving Butler, Horn, Nye & Johnson, PLLC, Johnson and his partner, Andrew Vines, formed Johnson Vines Attorneys in Little Rock, Arkansas. Within months of forming Johnson Vines Attorneys, Johnson had filed a lawsuit against one of the largest corporations in the country, ExxonMobile, regarding the 2013 Mayflower oil spill, a fast transition from the small firm practice he came from. As a result of this case, Johnson realized the value in working with other law firms collectively and co-founded the American Injury Attorney Group with his law partner, Andrew Vines.

American Injury Attorney Group

"The American Injury Attorney Group grew out of the vision of its co-founders Anthony Johnson and Andrew Vines to create a more effective way for injured parties to find experienced and qualified representation. As attorneys themselves, Johnson and Vines recognize that some attorneys are better suited to handle particular types of cases, and their goal is to help those in need of legal assistance find the right attorney for their case. They also seek to raise awareness of the potential claims an injured individual may have, as well as provide information related to those claims, so that a person considering hiring an attorney can be better informed when making such an important decision."

As noted by Johnson in an interview published on IdeaMensch (2015):

[m]ost people don’t have to hire a lawyer in their lifetime, so the average consumer knows little to nothing about where to start — much less who to hire. Well, lawyers do know which lawyers to hire, especially when it comes to national litigation against major pharmaceutical companies. So we decided to form our company with the mantra that, despite sharing fees and profits, collaborating with lawyers is best for the clients and the attorneys. We learn more, we work more effectively, and our clients get more out of the service.

Johnson, as CEO of American Injury Attorney Group, has also created and published a number of products with the goal of disseminating information to consumers regarding dangerous drugs or devices. The Mass Tort Journal is a news publication that aggregates and creates content relating to pharmaceutical and large corporate litigation topics including tort reform issues as well. Another example is the iPhone app called Tiny Attorney. "Providing a continuously updated index of current and ongoing mass tort litigation ranging from pharmaceuticals to medical devices to oil spills and industrial accidents, the Tiny Attorney iPhone app is designed to make it easier for attorneys in all practice areas to learn about current mass tort cases, in order to better serve current and potential clients who might have claims that qualify them to join pending litigation."
