Anil Mukim is a senior civil servant in the Government of India, holding the position of Joint Secretary, Department of Commerce & Industry in New Delhi. He was the municipal commissioner of the city of Ahmedabad, in the state of Gujarat, India until early 2006, overseeing reforms to electronic service delivery via improvements to government information technology networks.

Mukim was a 1985 batch IAS officer. His first posting was as Sub Divisional Magistrate in Bhuj, the headquarters of Kutch district, between 1986-89. He was appointed district collector of Vadodara in 1998, and targeted taxation and administrative reform and a crackdown on illegal land grabs.

As district collector of Kutch during the 2001 Gujarat earthquake, Mukim oversaw the early delivery of aid and equipment to affected villages but then called for further aid deliveries to cease as they encouraged a "relief mentality" which would delay a return to normal life. He has lectured on crisis management for the corporate sector, and the economic benefits of India's Special Economic Zones, and is Chairman of the government-sponsored Sports Goods Export Promotion Council which assists in export marketing for Indian-made sports apparel and equipment.

He is the father of two daughters by the name of Priyanka and Prashansa.
