American Homes 4 Rent

American Homes 4 Rent (NYSE: AMH) is a real estate investment trust based in Agoura Hills, California. It was established in 2012 by Public Storage founder B. Wayne Hughes Early funding included $600 million from the Alaska Permanent Fund. The company held its initial public offering in August 2013. As of 2015, it owned over 34,000 single-family homes in the United States. It was one of the first large public companies to begin investing heavily in single-family homes, following the entry of The Blackstone Group into the field in 2012.
