Amanullah made two first-class appearances for the team, during the 1958-59 season. Opening the batting, he scored 36 runs on his debut against Quetta. It was the highest score on either side in the low-scoring match, which Khairpur won in two days. It was also Khairpur's maiden first-class match.

In his second and final match, against Multan, which was curtailed to just two days' play, he opened the bowling without taking a wicket, then was absent hurt in Khairpur's only innings.
