Expansion to San Jose followed extension built from Fremont to Warm Springs station in the Warm Springs District (also in Fremont). This will be followed by the Berryessa Extension into eastern San Jose. The Alum Rock station was originally going to be part of the initital extension but funding could not be secured; therefore, the San Jose extension was split into two phases. This station will connect with the VTA buses.
