Mila aventurierul italian aloisio gritti a sf r it n cetatea media ului

Aloisio Gritti (d. 1534) was a son of Andrea Gritti, the Doge of Venice. His mother was Greek, and he was born in Istanbul while his father was bailo there. Educated in Italy, he returned to his native city and pursued a career there. A favorite of Pargali Ibrahim Pasha, he had a significant role in Ottoman foreign relations while the latter was Grand Vizier. Starting in 1532, he tried to impose his rule on Hungary, Transylvania and, through his sons, Moldavia and Wallachia. Sent by the sultan with troops into Transylvania, he was besieged in the Medias citadel by a joint force loyal to Stefan Mailat and Peter IV Rares before being killed.
