Allobates ornatus is a species of frog in the Aromobatidae family. It is endemic to northern Peru where it is only known near its type locality, Tarapoto, San Martín Province, on the eastern slopes of the Cordillera Occidental. It has been found in disturbed lowland rainforest and in humid montane forest at low elevations.

This species might have terrestrial direct development, without free-living tadpole stage, which is untypical for frogs in genus Allobates.
