Allchurches Trust is a large national charity in the United Kingdom, headquartered in Gloucester. It was established in 1972 to act as the beneficial owner of the major insurance company Ecclesiastical Insurance, a company founded in 1887 by the Church of England.

It is an independent registered charity and its objects are to promote the Christian religion and to provide funds for other charitable purposes.

Initially, most of its grants were for the repair and maintenance of church buildings. Now it also supports projects that more widely benefit local communities, reflecting changes in society.

Income

It does not fundraise; it receives its funds from the business it owns, Ecclesiastical Insurance Group plc (EIG), which passes on to Allchurches Trust a significant proportion of its profits. EIG is regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) and the Prudential Regulation Authority (PRA).

In 2015 the charity received £23million from Ecclesiastical Insurance.
