Alison Evans is a British economist.

After gaining a BA from Sussex University and an MPhil from Cambridge University in economics and development economics respectively, she was awarded a PhD from the University of Sussex, where she then became a lecturer on economics. In 1994 she joined the World Bank, and in 2006 joined the Overseas Development Institute, becoming their Director in 2009. She left in 2013. Evans became one of the commissioners of the Independent Commission for Aid Impact.

Evans is a Trustee of BBC Media Action, and served as a member of the World Bank's Advisory Council on Gender.
