Algoso (also, Weed Patch) is an unincorporated community in Kern County, California. It is located on the railroad 4.5 miles (7.2 km) east-southeast of downtown Bakersfield, at an elevation of 430 feet (131 m).

The place was called Weed Patch until arrival of the railroad which changed the name to Algoso (Spanish for "weedy") to avoid confusion with Weedpatch.
