Alfred Tinkler (1887 – 2 April 1950) was an English professional footballer from Manchester who played as a centre half.

Tinkler made more than 100 appearances in all competitions for Second Division club Birmingham over four years. He also played in the Football League for Derby County, and in non-League football for Ilkeston United, in two spells, and Heanor United.

Tinkler later resided in Croydon. He died at St James' Hospital, Balham, in 1950.
