Alexandre Silverio is a Brazilian jazz and classical bassoonist. He has been the principal of the São Paulo Symphony Orchestra (OSESP) in São Paulo, Brazil since 2004 and is the founder of the Alexandre Silverio Quartet which features bassoon as a solo jazz instrument.

Alexandre started his bassoon studies at the age of 15 under the tutelage of Gustav Busch and Francisco Formiga. After five years of private study, he began to study jazz with Roberto Sion and Hudson Nogueira. He was awarded a scholarship in 1999 to study at Hochschule für Musik Hanns Eisler in Berlin with Klaus Thunemann. In 2002, he was accepted into the Berlin Philharmonic Academy (Karajan Akademie) where he played with the Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra, the German Chamber Orchestra, and the Berlin Symphony Orchestra.

In addition to playing with OSESP, Alexandre teaches at Escola Municipal de Musica do Estado de São Paulo. His recordings include HEITOR VILLA LOBOS, BACHIANAS BRASILEIRAS N. 1, 4, 5, AND 6 (BIS, 2007) and Mágoas de Fagote (Alexandre Silverio, 2008) which features his jazz quartet.
