Alexander Mazin

Alexander Vladimirovich Mazin (Russian: Александр Владимирович Мазин) is a Ukrainian-born Russian writer, poet, and songwriter, specializing in the genres of science fiction, fantasy, and alternate history.

Born in 1959, in Zaporizhia, Mazin graduated from the Leningrad Lensoviet Institute of Technology. During the late 80s, he was a member of the authors' studio Nast. He worked for the theater for several years, participating in such projects as the Star of Bethlehem rock opera and the The Wizard of the Emerald City musical. In 1990, Mazin published his first and only poetry collection, titled The Path to the Mountain Heart. From 1993 on, he has written mostly novels.
