Aleksey Dmitriyevich Zhilin (c1766, Kursk province - c1848, Moscow) was a Russian composer and multi instrumentalist. Blind from the age of 6 months old, he was the Kapellmeister and orchestra director at the Institute for Blind Workers in St Petersburg from 1808-1818. Thereafter he resided in Kursk and Moscow. His published compositions include six polonaises, six marches, and several quadrilles, waltzes, écossaises, songs, and works for piano.
