Biography
Ashcraft was born on March 5, 1906 in Beloit, Wisconsin. He was a member of Phi Delta Phi and Sigma Phi. He was married to his first wife, Ruth from 1930 to 1944. They had one child. He subsequently married Jean Jackson.
Career
Ashcroft was elected to the Illinois House of Representatives in 1940. He served from 1941 to 1944. Later, he was a superior court judge from 1947 to 1950. He was a Republican.
