Alton Lavan (born September 13, 1946) is a former college football head coach for the Delaware State Hornets. He also served as the interim head coach for the Eastern Michigan Eagles in 2003, replacing Jeff Woodruff. He also played for the Atlanta Falcons of the National Football League.

As a longtime assistant running backs coach, he coached the following players throughout his various tenures: Tony Dorsett, Herschel Walker, Bam Morris, Earnest Byner, Leroy Hoard, Priest Holmes, Errict Rhett, Roosevelt Potts, Donnell Bennett, Tony Richardson, and Kimble Anders.
