Akira Watanabe (渡辺明, Watanabe Akira, born 1954 in Utsunomiya) is a Japanese former professional motocross racer. He was the F.I.M. 125cc Motocross World Champion in 1978 while riding for the Suzuki factory racing team. He remains the only Japanese rider to win a motocross world championship.
