Haji ismail ahmed bhamji


Ahmed Bhamji is a Fiji Indian businessman and National Federation Party politician and at 37 when he was elected the mayor of Ba, became the youngest mayor in the country.

In the 1987 general election for the House of Representatives, he won the North Eastern National Constituency for the National Federation Party - Fiji Labour Party coalition defeating the sitting Alliance Party candidate by 12,786 votes to 9,946 votes.

He became Minister for Communications, Transport and Works in the month-long Bavadra government

At present he resides in Auckland New Zealand. He has four children, Mauzima his eldest who lives in the UK, Sophia who is married to Arafat Bhamji, Tanvir married to Farhana Bhamjee a South African and Taslim married to Saadiyah Musa. He has four grandchildren.
