Adam Robinson (born June 16, 1976) is an American entrepreneur and businessman that serves as CEO of Hireology, Inc., a Chicago-based HR technology provider.

Early life and education

Robinson was born to Steve and Donna Robinson in Houston, Texas. After living in suburban Atlanta for 10 years, the family moved to the suburbs of Chicago in 1990 where Robinson graduated from Crystal Lake South High School in 1994. Robinson received his Bachelor of Arts degree with a double-major in History and Communications from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and earned a master's degree in business administration from DePaul University, where he serves on the Board of Advisors for the Coleman Entrepreneurship Center.

Career

Robinson began his professional career working as a technical recruiter for TekSystems. In 2000, Robinson left that company to join Click Commerce, where he led their Professional Services organization. In 2004, Robinson co-Founded Illuma, a provider of Recruitment Process Outsourcing services. In 2010, Robinson co-Founded Hireology and has served as CEO since inception. In 2014, the company secured $10M in Series B venture capital from Boston-based Bain Capital Ventures. Hireology raised $12 in Series C with lead investor Baird Capital. Under Robinson's leadership, the company has won numerous industry accolades. The company was selected as a 2015 Crain's Chicago Best Places to Work for GenX and Millennials, and has been named by HRO Today as the #1 Talent Management Technology Platform in both 2014 and 2015.

In July, 2015, Robinson was added to the Chicago Tribune's Blue Network, a listing of Chicago's most influential entrepreneurs and innovators, for his work with Hireology. In March 2017, Robinson released his first book, The Best Team Wins: Build Your Business Through Predictive Hiring, which provides entrepreneurs with team building advice.

Political career

In 2010, Robinson was a failed Republican nominee and challenger for the Illinois Senate, representing the 7th district in the Chicago area. On July 25, 2011, Robinson was appointed the 48th Ward Committeeman by Cook County to replace Committeeman Paul Bonilla, who stepped down. He was re-elected to that position on March 20, 2012.

Robinson was elected Chairman of the Chicago Republican Party on April 18, 2012 to a four-year term.
