Acokanthera rotundata grows as a shrub or small tree. Its fragrant flowers feature a white corolla, often pink to red on the corolla tube. Fruit is red to purple when ripe. Vernacular names for the plant include "round-leaved poison-bush". Habitats are in rocky areas of dry woodland. A. rotundata is native to Zimbabwe, Swaziland and South Africa.
