Academy of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia

The Academy of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia (Georgian: საქართველოს შინაგან საქმეთა სამინისტროს აკადემია, sak'art'velos shinagan sak'met'a akademia), also known as the Police Academy of Georgia (საქართველოს პოლიციის აკადემია, sak'art'velos polits'iis akademia), is a national police academy of Georgia, established in 1994 on the basis of the Soviet-era University of Militsiya, whose history goes back to 1925. It is based in Tbilisi and operated by the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia (MIA).

Beginning in 2004, the Academy underwent major modernization with the support of international donors. Further, it took control of the Special Training Center, a successor of the former Academy of the State Security, in 2006, and the MIA Archive in 2012.
