Ato Abay Weldu is the current president of the Regional state of Tigray, one of the nine states of the federal democratic republic of Ethiopia. He is also currently leading TPLF (Tigray People Liberation Front).
Abay Weldu joined TPLF in the late 1970s and has served as member of the executive Committees of EPRDF and TPLF since 2000.
