Aasiya Nasir (Urdu: آسیہ ناصر) is a Pakistani politician who is currently a member of the National Assembly of Pakistan, belonging to the Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (F).
Political career
In the 2002 general elections, Aasiya was elected as a member of national assembly on a reserved seats for minorities by Islamic political alliance Muttahida Majlis-e-Amal.
She was elected as a member of the National Assembly on a seat reserved for minorities in the Pakistani general election, 2008.
She was elected as a member of the National Assembly on a seat reserved for women in the Pakistani general election, 2013.
In June 2014, Aasiya raised the issue why non-Muslims cannot be elected as Prime Minister or President of the country. She also opposed the ban on consumption of alcohol by the non-Muslim community in Pakistan.
