The AAAS Award for Public Engagement with Science, formerly the AAAS Award for Public Understanding of Science and Technology, is awarded by The American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS). Established in 1987, the award seeks to recognize scientists who make outstanding contributions to science communication and the "popularization of science." The award offers a $5,000 prize and complimentary registration and travel expenses to attend the AAAS Annual Meeting.
The award is presented each year at the AAAS Annual Meeting immediately following the award year.
