A3400 road

The A3400 is the former A34 road in the Midlands of England, running from Hockley Heath (near Solihull) to a junction with the A44 near Chipping Norton. At its northern end it joins up with the A34, of which it was originally one section. At its southern end it joins the A44, passing through Woodstock and joining the A34 at the Pear Tree Roundabout. The road was renumbered in the early 1990s, after the newly completed M40 motorway took away most of its long-distance traffic, leaving the route with a lower traffic volume than its designed capacity.

Map of A3400, United Kingdom

The A3400 passes through a number of market towns in Warwickshire including Henley-in-Arden, Stratford-upon-Avon, and Shipston-on-Stour.

The number is out of zone, as it should be the A34 road and clockwise of the A4 it should have a 4 zone number.
