A Thousand Years of Good Prayers is the debut short story collection by Yiyun Li. It received the 2005 Frank O'Connor International Short Story Award, the 2006 Hemingway Foundation/PEN Award, Guardian First Book Award, and California Book Award for first fiction. Two of the stories were adapted into films: the title story and The Princess of Nebraska, both directed by Wayne Wang.
