"A Pig-Boy and His Dog" is the 13th episode of The Critic. This was the final episode to air on ABC (the series later transferred to FOX).

Plot

After seeing a rip-off of Pinocchio, Jay finds a puppy in the streets whom he takes home and names "Tiny". Meanwhile, Jay's mother, Elanor, is worrying her life has gone to waste. After very futile attempts, Jay says she should write a book. She does, and its based on Jay – The Fat Little Pig. It gains acclaim. But people are mocking Jay because of the similarities. And Tiny is bothering him too. Elanor knows that this is bothering Jay after people chase him in Phillipsland because of the pig. She ends up writing a new book, The Fat Little Pig Gets Smoked, killing off the character. While the book is hated among fans, it makes Jay happy. But he's still having trouble with Tiny, him not listening to Jay. Tiny however, obeys Elanor and takes him. The episode ends with Margo riding her horse, Elanor riding Tiny, Franklin riding a Rhino and Jay on a sled pulled by pigs, while Jay saying, "Goodnight, Critic fans! And a SPECIAL goodnight to those of you just tuning in for Home Improvement!" Taking a shot at the show being canceled.
