Reviews and reception

According to the films website, A Delicate Balance was nominated as the Best Unreleased Documentary by the Australian Film Critics Association.

Positive reviews by eminent figures have been recorded on the films website. A Delicate Balance has been described by actress Lynda Stoner as "...accessibly (challenging) the misguided trust people place in the medical profession and animal agriculture propaganda... a great film (that)... must be seen by the widest possible audience", by Dr. Will Tuttle as "...dramatically reveal(ing) the hidden side of our food and health care system, and reveal(ing) how each one of us can not only be dramatically healthier, but also live more sustainably and kindly in our daily lives... (and) making an important contribution to our shared awareness", and by Senator Sarah Hanson-Young as "...tak(ing) a brave, bold look at something complex that we too often simply take for granted: whats on our tables, in our lunchboxes and in our bodies. Now more than ever, we need to better understand the inherent link between the health of our environment, and the health of ourselves and our communities."

In response to the film, former Senator Andrew Bartlett said "During my time in the Senate, I met many people concerned about the impact of our lifestyles on our health, and the lack of attention paid to this matter in public debate. This film helps redress that failing. It is well worth watching if you are interested in finding out more on the impacts our lifestyles have on our own health and the health of the planet and the other creatures we share it with."

In 2009, A Delicate Balance was taken on a university tour in the United States and Australia, offering free screenings to students and the community.
