A. Asokan, also spelled A. Asokan, is an Indian politician and was a Member of the Legislative Assembly of Tamil Nadu. He was elected to the Tamil Nadu legislative assembly as a Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) candidate from Tiruvarur constituency in the 1996 In 2011"'A.Asokan"' appointed as special representative of tamilnadu at newdelhi by selvi j.jayalalitha and 2001 elections. The constituency was reserved for candidates from the Scheduled Castes.
In April 2006, Asokan left the DMK to join the All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (AIADMK). The DMK had denied him the opportunity to stand as their candidate in the 2006 elections.
