Chopra won his Best Director Award for Kanoon. Gunga Jumna and Jis Desh Men Ganga Behti Hai had the highest nomination with seven nominations each. Jis Desh Mein Ganga Behti Hai was a 1960 release but was not considered for the 8th Filmfare Awards.
