72 Ophiuchi (72 Oph) is a class A5 main sequence star in the constellation Ophiuchus. Its apparent magnitude is 3.73 and it is approximately 86.9 light years away based on parallax.

72 Ophiuchi is a multiple star system with several components; the primary has been reported as a spectroscopic binary, and there are also components B, with magnitude 13.9 and separation 25", C, with magnitude 11.5 and separation 64" (possibly optical), and D, with magnitude 14.8 and separation 24".
