7187 Isobe (1992 BW) is an inner main-belt binary asteroid discovered on January 30, 1992 by E. F. Helin at Palomar. A moon was discovered orbiting the asteroid in 2012, but not announced until 2013.

The asteroid has been named after Syuzo Isobe, scientist at NAOJ, individual member of the IAU, and president of the Japan Spaceguard Association. He significantly contributed in establishing the Bisei Spaceguard Center, an observatory designed for the observation of NEOs and earth-orbiting space debris.
