The 3 µm process is the level of semiconductor process technology that was reached in 1977 by the leading semiconductor companies such as Intel.

Products featuring 3 µm manufacturing process

  • Intel 8085 CPU launched in 1977 was manufactured using 3.2 µm process.
  • Intel 8086 CPU launched in 1978 was manufactured using 3.2 µm process.
  • Intel 8088 CPU launched in 1979 was manufactured using 3.2 µm process.
  • The original ARM microprocessor was launched in 1985 and manufactured on a 3µm process.
