The 2019 Special Olympics World Summer Games are a multi-sport event for athletes with intellectual disabilities in the tradition of the Special Olympics movement. They will be held in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates in March 2019.
Host Selection
There were three finalists chosen from the countries who have submitted bids to host Games: Australia, Germany, and South Africa. However, all three countries have withdrawn their bids as of April 2015. The games were awarded to Abu Dhabi in November 2016.
