The 2019 FIBA Basketball World Cup qualification for the FIBA Europe region will start in the summer of 2017. Contrary to previous years, no teams were automatically placed for the World Cup, so all FIBA Europe nations participated.

Format

The teams would be divided in a Division A and Division B, based on their past results. Division A would consist of 32 teams, and would fight for a spot in the 2019 World Cup. Division B teams played to still have a chance to qualify for EuroBasket 2021.

Pre-qualification round

Teams that did not manage to make EuroBasket 2017 will play the pre-qualification round. In order to determine the last 8 spots in Division A, 13 teams will participate in four home-and-away round robin groups on 2-19 August 2017. The draw to determine the groups was held in Prague, Czech Republic on 10 December 2016.

Division A

The 24 national teams that qualified for EuroBasket 2017 have also qualified for Division A of FIBA Basketball World Cup Qualifying. The last 8 teams will qualify through the 2019 FIBA Basketball World Cup European Pre-Qualifiers to be held in August 2017.

First round

Games will be played during November 2017, February 2018 and June 2018.

Second round

In the second round, the top three teams from each group were placed in a group with three other top teams. All results from the first qualification round are carried over to the second round. Games will be played in September 2018, November 2018 and February 2019.

Division B

During the 2019 FIBA Basketball World Cup qualifiers, Division B teams would play for a place in Division A of the next round of qualifiers for the EuroBasket 2021.
