The 2016 Women's Cricket Super League, or 2016 Kia Super League for sponsorship reasons, was a Women's Twenty20 cricket league in England and Wales. It was the first season that the domestic T20 competition, run by the ECB. The league consisted of the 6 teams with the hosts and partners including seven first-class counties, five minor counties and three universities. The ECB hoped that the WCSL will develop as a semi-professional competition, with the intention of bridging the gap between the amateur Women's County Championship and international cricket, for which England players are centrally contracted as professionals.

Competition format

Six teams competed for the T20 title which took place between 30 July and 21 August 2016. The six teams played each other once in a round robin format; followed by a finals day at the County Cricket Ground, Chelmsford.
