The 2016 Surrey Storm season is the eleventh year that the Surrey Storm will play in the Netball Superleague, and the eighth under the Surrey Storm name. Surrey Storm went into the season as defending champions having won the Grand Final in the previous season.
The bumper opening day of the new Superleague season, which started on 30 January 2016, was billed as 'Super Saturday' and saw all eight teams compete in four back-to-back matches at Birmingham's Genting Arena. Talking to Sky Sports club captain Tamsin Greenway said "There's pressure as reigning champions because you become the team to beat,". "I think everybody looks at Storm and wants to get our scalp. But it breeds new confidence that we finally lifted that trophy - it helps the younger players start believing in a winning culture."
