The 2016 Queensland Cup season is the 21st season of Queensland's top-level statewide rugby league competition. Known as the Intrust Super Cup for sponsorship purposes, will be contested by fourteen teams over a 30-week-long season (including finals) which will be decided in the 2016 grand final at Suncorp Stadium. The winner of the cup will then compete in the 2016 NRL State Championship, against the winner of the 2016 New South Wales Cup.

Teams

The Queensland Cup consists of 14 teams, eight in South East Queensland, three from North Queensland, and one each from Central Queensland, Tweed Heads and Papua New Guinea. The league operates on a single group system, with no divisions or conferences and no relegation and promotion from other leagues.
