2013 New Zealand primetime television schedule

The 2013 New Zealand primetime television schedule for the five major free-to-air New Zealand television networks (One, 2, 3, Four and Prime) covers primetime hours throughout 2013.

Unlike other countries, New Zealand television schedules do not run against any 'seasons' (such as the United States' 2012-13 television season), and therefore scheduling can be sporadic. This is due to delayed scheduling allow for the removal of hiatuses (thus allowing two 23 episode seasons to be aired within a year in the same time slot, for example in 2012, the eighth season of Desperate Housewives aired at 8:30pm Monday on 2 from February to July, and the eighth season of Grey's Anatomy from July to February 2013), and the varying season lengths from local and imported shows (For scripted shows, American and Australian seasons are usually between 20 and 24 episodes, British seasons are usually 6 to 8 episodes, and New Zealand seasons vary between 6 and 13 episodes). However, some shows, such as Four's Glee and How I Met Your Mother are scheduled within a week of their original American airing and therefore follow the pattern of American programming of airing repeats during hiatuses.

New Zealand produced series premiering in 2013 include One's Agent Anna, Seven Sharp, Dishing Up Australia with Al Brown, NZ Detectives, Life Flight, Descent from Disaster and Best Bits, 2's Code 1, 3's Crime Exposed, The Blue Rose, Sunny Skies, The Radio, 3rd Degree, The Vote, Saving Gen Y, a local version of The X Factor and Harry, and Prime's The Animal Files, New Zealand from Above and Sachie's Kitchen.

Due to negotiations between 20th Century Fox Television and Mediaworks (owners of 3 and Four) unable to be made, Fox's properties, including staples The Simpsons, Glee and How I Met Your Mother, ceased to screen on these channels starting 8 November.
