The 2013 Kilkenny Senior Hurling Championship is the 119th staging of the Kilkenny Senior Hurling Championship since its establishment in 1887. The championship began on 14 September 2013 and is scheduled to end on 27 October 2013.

Ballyhale Shamrocks were the defending champions, however, they were defeated in the semi-final stage. Clara won the title, following a 1-15 to 2-10 defeat of Carrickshock in the final.

Overview

All but one of the twelve teams from the 2012 championship are participating in the top tier of Kilkenny hurling in 2013.

Clara, who defeated St. Patrick's by 1-7 to 0-4 in the final of the intermediate championship in 2012, availed of their right to automatic promotion to the senior championship.

Similarly, Danesfort defeated Dunnamaggin by a single point in the 2012 relegation play-off, and so Dunnamaggin were relegated to the intermediate grade for 2013.
