The "2012 NAHL Robertson Cup Championship Tournament" will be the 37th edition of the annual round-robin tournament that decides the season champion. The tournament will be hosted by the Texas Tornado at the Dr Pepper Arena in Frisco, Texas. The tournament host was announced on March 8, 2011 by NAHL Commissioner Mark Frankenfeld. This will be the 2nd time the Texas Tornado and the city of Frisco will have hosted the Robertson Cup Tournament.

The top two teams in each pool will advance to the semifinal round, to be played Monday, May 7th. Goal differential will be used as the first tiebreaker, while goal quotient will be used as the second tiebreaker. By dividing goals scored by goals allowed, positions will be determined based on the highest quotient. However, should all three teams in one pool go 3-0, all teams from that pool will advance to the semifinals. The team with the best goal differential in the opposite pool will also move on to the semifinals. Similarly, if all three teams from one pool go 2-1, the same rules apply. The Robertson Cup Championship Tournament will begin with a three-day, three-game round robin. Then 2 semi-final games will be played with the winners of each advancing to the championship game on May 8.
