The 2009 North Dakota State Bison football team represented North Dakota State University in the 2009 NCAA Division I FCS football season. The Bison were led by seventh year head coach Craig Bohl and played their home games at the Fargodome. They are a member of the Missouri Valley Football Conference. They finished the season 3-8, 2-6 in MVFC play to finish in seventh place. This season was rare in that it was only the 3rd time NDSU had finished with a losing record since 1964.
